problem with PC3 usb

I just bought a 06 zx10r it has a power commander 3 usb.i tried to reprogram it with just the push button settings and it did nothing. so i took it to a friends house who had the power commander map program and we hooked it up and it read the pc3 but showed no map, nor would it allow us to program a new one. it also didnt show the throttle % or rpm. is there any way to reset the pc3 or if anyone knows if the company will fix it?

Was it working before this time?? Is the lights on the PCIII moving up and down when your into the throttle?? I had a similar problem with my gixxer and it was a simple wiring mistake.. The TPS wire was not conducting correctly.. Check your wiring on the bike and make sure that your hooked up right.. May be something simple.. Good luck homie

a common mistake is the usb plug.
Make sure it is connected ALL THE WAY IN behind the pc3.
It should snap in, and you shouldnt see any metal parts of the plug.

Dumb question, but you made sure the bike was running right?

THe bike has to be running or you have to be using the 9V adapter to power the PCIII< if you just turn the key on, it will cycle and then shut off, you will see the PCIII momentarily but then it will be gone.

^^^^Bingo, I am sure this will help you. Unlike some bikes, the 10 needs to be running in order to communicate with the PC. Let us know if that was it.

Besides the above- is the software showing an error for the pc3?

Here is a link to the tutorials, number 11 is for reseting the pc.

Sarah Palin and friends can call it a snow machine all they want but Yamaha, Polaris and Bombardier plus the related magazines all seem to call them Snowmobiles.

Snow machines create snow on ski slopes. Just sayin'

I tried both ways with the 9v and with the bike on. the light bar on the side lights up with the throttle but either way of being hooked up it doesnt work. we know the program works on the computer( we tried it on my buddies zx14), i will try the wiring problem first.

Sounds like the wiring if its lighting up its getting power.. If its not moving with the throttle then its just the wrong wire being tapped into... SIMPLE FIX

I would update to the newest software on my PC< after I tried a different USB cable. Try his bike and then your bike back to back, and that may tell you something.
