Question Power commander/butterfly valve

Hey guys! How's the riding goin' on? I'm new to this forum, and this is my first post...

I will be installing the Akrapovic slip-on with optional link-pipe system on ma 2008 zx10r...and since the boom-box will be eliminated..i was wondering if there is a need for any power commander to be installed also?

Another question is regarding the Exhaust Butterfly Valve Actuator (motor). Should i just disconnect the cables only or will it harm the bike if the motor is also disconnected? I was told that the FI warning light would come on if you disconnect the motor...what is the real effect on the bike and it's performance?

Your answers and advise are greatly appreciated!!
