Performance upgrade

I recently bought a Brocks performance predator 3/4 exhaust and want to do more, they recommend a ECU flash with a power comander v. Is it worth it getting both or am I wasting money?

A PCV is not necessary if the ECU gets a reflash by a shop. Brockís will have a flash for that pipe and it will be safe. A PCV isnít going to add anything.

Yeah, Don Guhl does good work on the Gen5's... getting on the dyno would be your absolute best bet. You will need some kind of PCV or aftermarket fuel management system to have the bike dyno tuned. That's just what most dyno tuners require. I would get a PCV and get on the dyno then have Guhl flash the updated fuel map into the bike. You can then sell the PCV.

You otherwise do NOT need a PCV for a simple ECU flash, don't believe anyone that tells you otherwise. If you want just an ECU flash and don't want to travel or buy a PCV get with Shnitz, Nicks Performance, or EJR performance. ACE Performance is also really good. Those are going to be the best street tunes out there. And I would say SBU or EDR are going to have the best track tunes.

When in doubt... send it!

A flash is fine if you never mod again. The PCV allows you to fine tune as you go. Plus you can dual map with the PCV so you can have a fire breathing razors edge track map and then your daily driver with a bit richer AFR.

Flash does some things that can't be done with the PCV like timing retard at the high rpm's and/or raising the rev limiter.

My 2c is get both. Not a waste of money.
