No power, checked everything.

Weather's been going better here so I tried the 10.
GEN 1, 2005 10R

  • No power to bike.
  • Headlights won't even turn on.
  • No fuel pump priming.
  • Dashboard no lights.
  • No FI light.
  • PC3 does not do the light dance.
  • No crank whatsoever.
  • Tail light won't even light up when I hit the brakes.

Bike been sitting the whole winter. I thought I had the trickle charger hooked up only to find out it wasn't. Been riding the triumph as daily bike.
  • Checked the battery.. dead.
Went to local shop to have it load tested and confirmed the battery's dead.

Bought new Yuasa battery. Brand spanking new and properly charged! Bike still would not start. No crank whatsoever. Checked all fuses, they're all OK.

At this point, the only thing that lights up is the GiPRO led.

As always in troubleshooting, I tried bringing the bike to stock.
  • Removed PC3.
  • Removed GiPRO

Bike still has no power.
  • Removed relay box and checked diodes, came out OK.
  • Checked fuel pump, tested OK.
  • Rechecked connections. All OK.
  • Tested batter cables for connectivity, all OK.
  • Checked clutch switch, tested OK.
  • Checked tilt sensor, tested OK.
  • Checked kill switch, tested OK.

Bike still has no power.

Tried jumping the bike with the Triumph. Still has no power.

Im running out of things to check :(

Check your ignition wires/ignition switch. was bike stored indoors? Did you check the main fuse? main engine ground? what yer bike? if its a gen 1, i believe theres a ground supply behind the left side panel. Check your battery connections again...without the pc3 or gipro hooked to it. make sure you hook the pos side up first...then the ground. should get a small 'arc' when touching the ground cable to the battery. if you do, but no power to the bike..my guess would be ignition switch.

New bike...07 GSXR1000..BMC filter, LOR slip on, 520 conversion with -1, speedohealer, pc3 custom map with xtre settings, Galfer superbike lines front, galfer sportbike line rear, shorty levers, Yami R1 throttle tube for 1/5 throttle, PAIR mod, exhaust valve gone, ecu flashed.

Read above. I took almost all aftermarket out. Removed GiPro and PC3. Bike always in garage. Like I said, all connections and terminals are OK, even the ground. No rust or gunk or anything. Contacts are fine as tested by a multimeter.

The thing that bogs me is that it runs PERFECTLY the last time.

how about a continuity tester..and see if your getting power to the ignition switch? just because it ran fine..sat for a year..doesnt mean there couldnt be some kind of 'crud' somewhere. even in a garage...theres moisture...me personally i would check the ignition switch. My bike sat overnight and now has a bad coil pack...anything is possible. Just makin a suggestion.

With the key off, check to see if your getting power the the ignition.
Then turn the key on and see if power is coming out of the ignition.

Also like stated before me, double check the kill switch.

Also, did you test the new battery? I have seen new batteries that had 1 bad cell in them. Check voltage and load test it at an auto parts store.

There is a ground under the battery that bolts to the subframe,
check for corrosion and check the common ground block in the wiring harness
on the left side of the bike (the side panel). It's a blue box approx 1" by 2".
You will have to cut the electrical tape from around it. Pull the cap off and pull each of the metal blades out of it to see if there are any burn marks or corrosion on them. If so, clean them and re-insert.

Good luck

Check every fuse, connection, ground, sensors everything! It could have something to do with your charging system...I want to say it sounds like your fuses are all blown or your kill switch/tilt sensors are pulling your leg!
