new to nitrous.. need advice...gen 2

ok guys. im putting spray on the bike and was just curious on how you guys set your activations up. keep in mind im still learning about n2o.

as much as ive read so far, id like to have it activate based off rpms. say 6k-11k. the kicker is i do not want to spray in 1st. i guess the biggest thing is i dont wanna have to push a button to get it to spray.

my nitrous setup right now is
nx dry kit (40 shot)
spraybar
dj pc 3
dj multihub
progressive controller is undecided

any and all advice is greatly appreciated

I had mine on the horn using the MPS switch/relay (horn on one mode, spray on the other). What are you trying to accomplish, exactly? 1/4 mile? Roll-on racing? 9/10ths? What's your elevation, gearing, suspension look like? :)

Attack life... it's going to kill you anyway.

You gotta spray 1st on the 1/8 man, you will see an et drop as long as you get on the dope before the 330 if you just have to wait until 2nd. I For me it was too hard to slide the clutch and hold the horn button to spray and now the horn is the shifter. I use a wot switch that I made myself to spray at about 90 to 95% throttle, and I use the hi beam to activate/arm system. Oh and I hope you can wheelie lol, I don't care how long your are if you spray its gonna wheelie.

My air shifter is on my horn right now, and I haven't wheelied on the track before but I understand it's something I'm gonna have to get used to and quickly lol

I got the micro switch from Fry's electronics, it bolts to the motor mount (the one that the frame sliders bolt too). Pretty easy to make if you want your bike to spray at WOT.

Yup. That long should help... if you want to see ET go down, you need to be spraying as soon as you see WOT. If you wait 'till second you're damn near 600ft out or more, and you'll just see MPH. You don't even need a mechanical activation switch: you can use the control hub to trigger the solenoid at 100% throttle withing a given RPM window. You can run the arm switch for the system on the headlight switch, on the other output from the control hub, or any aftermarket switch that you like.

Attack life... it's going to kill you anyway.

Dude the 1/8mi is only 660 feet long, even with stock gearing you'd get in second a lot sooner than 600ft, prolly around the 330.

With 15/43 you will see a et drop starting in 2nd but the magic happens spraying thru 1st, high 1.30's 60 ft times would be easily possible with a true hand clutch

Absolutely true. I missed the part about 1/8th racing.... was still thinking in terms of 1320. To be honest, I don't have any seat experience running long/low bikes... everything I've ever run has been @ street tire PSI and stock wheelbase/height. :) I've been around it a lot, but I always ran my bike the way it was set-up for the road course or street..... more fun for me that way. But on stock gearing you're looking at second at 105ish mph.... that's getting close to the end of the 1/8th mile for most stock bikes, right? I was seeing 113-ish on my 06 stock... but my DA is pretty bad up here.

Attack life... it's going to kill you anyway.
