Here is a good site to use for spring rates http://www.racetech.com/evalving/en...&year=06-07&TABLEINFO=street&langname=english

From Racetech......

Front
Rider Weight: 270 lbs.
Recommended Spring Rate: 1.048 kg/mm (use closest available)
Stock Fork Spring Rate (measured): 1.000 kg/mm (stock)

Rear
Rider Weight: 270 lbs
Recommended Spring Rate for Street: 10.38 kg/mm (use closest available)
Stock Shock Spring Rate (measured): 8.3 kg/mm (stock)

So it looks like the front is close but the rear is off by quite a bit.

Yeah, this is something that Im going to try to get done when weather gets warm. Im going to use the suggested settings from sport rider magazine. I am about 200 lbs. I know that the stock settings are way to soft for me. Hopefully bike will come alive when I get sag set and adjust suspension a bit.

Actually on the 06-07 10R the front springs are actually quite stiff. I am not sure it will be stiff enough for a 270lb person but I am just over 200lb with all my gear and managed to get my preload set up without running out of adjustment.
