Muzzy GP exhaust

Anyone installed the new Muzzy GP exhaust on a 06-07 yet? If so, have any pics and how is the sound?

Thanks

If it smells like cologne, leave it alone.

Actually I just called them and they are still a few weeks out. He said it is going to weigh about 12-13 pounds....and claims about 10% increase in HP. I think that is a little much. I could have guessed maybe 5-6% but I think 10% is a little much. Plus the header pipes are stainless vs. titanium. He said they did that to cut down on price...the pipe itself is titanium.

I don't know....I have a full Akra system right now, but I like the looks of this one to. Can you powder coat titanium? If you can will it hurt the pipe?

Humm, interesting question on powder coating, I'd take a wild guess and say ceramic powder coating would work. But, I only drove past a Holiday Inn Express, didn't stay there :-)

I am thinking about this pipe as well....but would really like to hear it first and see the cost go down a bit....
I wonder if a bolt/slip on application would be possible for this type of set-up...That would cut down on Muzzy's huge cost on this peice.

I'm eager to see if these GP cans, (prefer slip-ons) will work out (like no funny flat spots or loss of torque). For the sound, I've played with Super-Trapp disks and open end caps a lot, (and differently than SuperTrapp does), so if the power is there, I'd love to get a GP can to screw with. To illustrate what I've found to turn a ear hurting sound to a deep/softened (still loud but everyone likes it), sound, if anyone has a picture of the exhaust on Mert Lawell's street tracker, that's the set-up. (I can't post pictures, or I'd do it).

Vic Fasola who use to be Scott Russels Muzzy mechanic back in the early 90's , and fromer Muzzy employee once told me that Muzzy don't even build or design those Muzzy pipes. He stated they are made by a contractor in Japan.

the exhausts should be out in a couple weeks like stated above. muzzy told me they had to redesign the muffler so it could be taken apart and repacked...the original was welded and not servicable.

they told me the sound was at the same level as the m10...there is a vid clip of the m10 on youtube.

they also said it uses the same map as the m10, which muzzy emailed me.

im anxious to get it on. got mine orderd through cycle concepts for $1187.50 shipped. cheap compared to some of the other full systems.

If it smells like cologne, leave it alone.
