Mods for thin head gasket

Ok guy, apparently I may have a thin head gasket installed on my gen 4..... the previous owner said the guy he got it from told him he installed a thin head gasket... (hear say I suppose) ..... I was going to run nitrous untill the local shop explained that if I had a thin head gasket I could not spray, and that I needed a thicker head gasket . Roughly 1500.00 for install...
My question is what mods and i do in conjunction with a thin head gasket ?

Current mods supposedly:
Flashed ecu...but no sticker or writhing on it
Stock headers..
M4 slip on
Kn air filter
Thin head gasket... supposedly I dont know the size....

My question is can I run race fuel, or what mods can I do do give it a lil more

I don't agree with your shop. I have and others here have set up spray kits with decked heads, why do they think there'll be a problem?

not true advice from shop. doesnt matter if u have thin head gasket and other compression mods to run nitrous. just put a measured 48 shot on a zx10 previous build with 13.5 pistons, head decked .020, tight squish. i do nitrous builds, what does matter for nitrous to produce best results is what ur using it for, shot size, tune, safeguards, and required fuel depending on shot size and compression. small shots, 30 hp or less, are pretty simple and can be tuned on pump gas, tuned key word here. valve springs on the ten limiting factor too. done right, still inexpensive for power/torque produced. cannot come close to duplicating torque nitrous produces with same hp normally aspirated engine and torque acclerates u, not hp. nitrous can make u fast cheap and great reliability setup right. beware some of the cheap ebay kits, need to piece together ur own components. stk head pipe other mods fine.

Well the shop told me to run a 50 shot direct, I was learning more towards a 30 shot fogged airbox..

I was going to use the dynotune kit for like 350.00

Honestly I just want it for roll racing and or dig racing on the street ...... I'm 235 suited I've had a couple lighter guys pull around me a the end of the 8th a few times, I just want to be able to hit a button and stay out front

Nitrous works out of the dig. Spraying half track is not effective. I've ran 140 shot with stock zx14. I just regapped the piston rings a little wider, squish at 0.035", and spread out the LCs for less overlap. Also ran carpenter springs. Took it like a champ. Tune is key, you get greedy and things go boom.

dont like the dyno tune kit due to spray nozzle design and suggested placement, bottle size, bottle angle placement are big factors for kit to work well. suggest 2-2.5 lb bottle mounted straight up or down depending on siphon tube or lack of. the rest is pretty straight foward. parts for basic kit- bottle, swingarm bottle mount bracket, nitrous pressure gauge, swivel fitting for gauge, 3an line bottle to input port solenoid, solenoid, tee for 2 poly lines directley from solenoid output port to 2 dry nozzle foggers mounted in ram air tubes, 20 amp button to activate. 2.5 lb new bottle from nick's performance cycle, ebay has rest, .063-.078 orifice solenoid, all new stuff about $350, but a better kit with better nitrous distribution. as john stated, key is tune. dont suggest running 30 shot depending on air temp sensor to add needed fuel as dyno tune states. faster/safe with tune. got stk motor 1k's running 5.40's/over 130 in 1/8 on 30 shots sprayed 100%off the line. expect about 20-25% increase in torque tuned-so ur 1k now pulls like a 1200-1250. nitrous by far best solution to big man weight disadvantage.
