Idling concern

when my bike is up to temp and idling at about 1000rmps the bike sounds like a car with a big cam in, it sounds like its hunting..

does anyone elses bike run like that?

I turned up the idle to about 1200rpms and it a little better but still up and down, up and down then it will go smooth for a few seconds then back to hunting

all of my 10's do it. I would think it's normal, I mean, out of all (6) 10's I've owned, they all did the same thing. Not sure about the 08+ cause I never had one of those.

after I took it to the dealership for my fouled plugs prob I got it back and they had turned down the idle to about 800 rpms.. is that were it should idle? kinda sounded like it was on the verge of stalling

I think the idle should be around 1,000 to 1,200 rpms or so 800 is way too low i would think.

Take a risk, and you may lose. Never risk, and you will always lose.

Idle speed is ~1100 RPM, and yes it's not even. These engines are optimized to produce prodigious amounts of power at high RPM, not idle smoothly.
