I ate my rear rotor, Should I care?

Well, I will confess to being an idiot again. I changed my tires a couple of weeks ago and in haste, put on my rear caliper all messed up. Basically I slid the rotor in between the pads and caliper, instead of in between the 2 pads. In other words, rotor touching the non piston part of the rotor and the back of the iner most pad. What an ASS! It was dark, I was tired, blah, blah. So I noticed the scraping sound when I first used my rear brake the next day. I was far from home so I rode 30+miles this way. Result: My rotor looks like shit, the caliper has some grindage off of it, and it barely stops (at least no rear lock up). I've tried to convince myself, "who cares, I never use my rear brake". I guess, If I can't find a cheap used caliper/rotor, should I really care and spent big $$ to replace. Can you turn bike rotors? I wouldn't on fronts by the rear?? Should I just change the pads and say fuggit? I searched the site and in the past it seems everybody is split on how often they even use their rear brake. Any comments? I know this question has been done in the past, but it beats talking about politics, feelings, and shit

I honestly use my rear brake frequently and would have at least the rotor swapped

Yeah, start checking ebay for the caliper and rotor maybe, it's not a big deal but at the same time you should take care of it as soon as you can. UNLESS you really don't every use you're rear brake, you could just scrap it all, line, caliper, all of it.

At its core, the Ninja ZX-10R is a motorcycle built for the accomplished rider who can fully appreciate its capabilities--whether put to the test at a racetrack, or merely the focus of bench-racing conversation. It is, by all standards, the embodiment of the ultimate superbike.

rear brake is very important.

I dont know if you can get it machined. I'd get it fixed though.

you should be able to get a stock rotor on the cheap cheap but if you cant find one the EBC and Galfer rotors aren't really that expensive.

Rotors can be had for 25 bucks. I know cause I scored one. I'm sure someone here has a caliper for ya. If not, hunt on fleabay. Your gonna wish you had a back brake if you ever go "offroading" Thats the bigger picture.
