How do you test a rectifier if the bike won't run?

For the details of my bike not running here's that saga.

The symptoms reminds me of when I unplugged my gixxer rectifier not knowing what it was - it ran a little while then died.

But how do you check one when you can't get a voltage output?

what year 10 is it. the 09 have been having some bad rectifiers lately. seen about 5 bad in the last 3 months.

It's an '08. It wouldn't run without a charger on it and now it won't run at all even with a brand new battery. I did an ohm test on the stator leads and got full continuity. Although the R/R is upstream from the battery and probably not my problem.
