How do i know my chain pitch?

I picked up a zx10 a few months ago and the p.o. had put a vortex rear sprocket on does anyone know if there is any way to tell what size chain it takes. Is there # on the sprocket or possabley on the chain i can check?

it should be on both, maybe clean it up a bit and look for the 520,525 or 530
