lol, nice pic.
i wanted to just take out some of the paking but it broke all up. so i just took it all out until i can get to the local shop to buy some more. doubt it will burn a hole in the sleeve,
1. the sleeve isn't plastic
and 2. the core isn't touching the sleeve at all. it's comes perfectly through the middle and the end cap bolts right to it

yea i know how the internals look, I did this very same thing to my micron but I re-rolled a layer of packing and wrapped the entire thing supertight with A LOT of duct tape...not sure how long it will hold but so far (500 miles probably) so good.

Reason why I think its a bad idea is the exhaust gasses are no longer going straight through the silencer and out the outlet pipe. the gasses come into the silencer and disperse throughout the can/sleeve (b/c the silencer is vented) and just eventually make their way out of the pipe.

the stupid rubber O ring that is between the can and the pipe at the bottom of the can came off. And the sleeve is loose.

now that does make sense to me, i should have some new packing tomorrow. and i'll probably put a thin layer on as well. that was my intention today. but i guess i was a little too rough with the old packing.
