HELP! gen1 GIpro w/ ATRE install

The instructions seemed simple enough. Bought it off a forum member and he couldn't remember the exact hookup. Took the bike apart and finally found out he didn't send me the connector with the red wire. Went back in to do it after I got it and it seems there are a bunch of extra wires, an extra connector and stuff out of place. Can someone point me in the right direction?

Instructions:

The connector I received had the red wire only, so I connected the green/red and black into it as instructed.

Seems it should be simple as taking two wires from the factory harness and plugging them in the GIpro's. Maybe I'm missing something. Help appreciated. Thanks!
