to answer your title question, yes a lot of members on here use aftermarket brake lines of the stainless steel braided variety.

Some good brands are Spiegler, Galfer, HEL. I personally have HEL on mine, front and rear. They will do whatever color line and banjo fitting, plus they can cut to whatever length you want as well. Heres a pic of my rear line. Fronts are exactly the same.

I believe you can contact HEL directly for them. I went through a seller on eBay that I also found their website for http://www.moto-heaven.com/store/HEL-Brake-Lines.html. They will pretty much cut you any length you want.

More specifically, this is what you want for yours. You can just order it as a kit and select the extension in rear line length you want for it. Its like $150 all aroujnd. http://www.moto-heaven.com/store/HEL...-Calipers.html

Kawi Green is solid green. Thats the color I have.

I have Speigler SS lines on mine. Check out the sponsors from this forum. I have bought stuff from Mary aka lexusrx and Mike aka ridersdiscount. Have nothing but great things to say about them! I'm sure the rest of the members here can vouch for that as well.

No, when we say cut them, the supplier that you are buying the part from will cut the length of the brake line and them fit the banjo to both ends of the lines for you. You just have to remove your old lines and install + bleed your new lines.
