Gen4: slipper clutch adjustment for road racing???

Hey guys,
Just picked up a 2011 ZX10 i plan on racing next year and had a question about adjusting the clutch. I believe the only way to adjust the clutch is by changing the stack height via the steel plates correct??

If i am trying to achieve more slip during downshifts (making less enginebraking/less abrupt at high rpm) will i want to make the stack thicker or thinner???

From what ive read in other posts it sounds like its a good idea to change out to some heavy duty springs as well.

Any other advice from all of you already racing the bike would be appreciated...

Sooooo all the people on this forum racing this bike an no one can answer this question??? Ive seen posts from guys in WSBK on here too, cmon someone has to know ....

it only says wsbk because they post whore the shit out of this site. the more post you make the higher your "rank".

i think i read somewhere you could pull 1 or 2 springs out and it will slip more. in the opposite if you put heavier springs in itll slip even less.

A modification that work really well is to substitude the second friction plate with the "Double-Plate" friction plate (anti-judder plate) from the '04 clutch and then select various steel plate thicknesses to come back to the 53.5mm total thickness of all the plates. Can go down to about 53.2mm!
This give just the right amount of bite for launching off the line without the judder and you can really bang it down the gears on downshifts!
Just make sure the first and last plate stay the same. You can then also eliminate the two cone rings after the second plate.

Look for the racing manual online, it will tell you what to adjust in Kawasaki's own words and the allowed tolerances. But essentially yes, you are altering the overall thickness of the stack I believe.

I race, but use the stock clutch as is. I've only had 1 turn so far that I felt the slipper clutch wasn't slipping enough, but blipping the throttle cured that for me in that race.
