Full exhaust vs. Slip on Is it really worth the extra money ?

I just bought a 2005 ZX10R brand new (left over from last year) and I want to change the exhaust. My question is I know that the full system is very expensive and I don't have a lot to spend, so is it worth the extra money to wait and save for the full, or will the slip-on get the job done just fine for a lot less ? I'm not a racer, but I do love the power, so this will be primarilly for street riding. This is the first mod i'm looking at doing, is this the best place to start ? How much extra power do you really get by going full/slip-on ?

A quality slip-on will perform as well as a full system until the 9-10k area and then the superior flow, collector shape and length of the head pipes takes over.

I wasted plenty of money on full systems. Buy a nice previously owned slip-on if you can find one. Take the extra money you will save and buy your girlfriend something nice.

You're not the sharpest tool in the shed. He said he rides on the street. Put race tires on a street ridden bike.:headshake
