F1 Code 63 on an 08 with a Two Bros slip on

I just installed a Two Bros slip on my 08. Now Im getting a code 63 "Exhaust butterfly valve actuator malfunction wiring open or short" I havent unplugged anything. All I did was take the center bolt out of the pully on the servo to take the cables out. I put that pully back in the same position it was in. Has anybody else that has installed a Two Bros or full exhaust had this problem or this Code 63. If so how do I fix it or clear the code to stop making it blink. Two Bros customer support and Tech is the worst. I should have went with Muzzy. Iv never had a problem with a single Muzzy product or support.

Thanks
Joe T

Here's a quick way to check......take the stock exhaust with the cables and butterfly still attached and connect it back to the bike. Start the bike and hit the throttle a few times and see if the light goes away. If you are throwing that code a pin is cut or unplugged. It's not the exhaust causing it, it was something already defective or something damaged or unplugged during install. Frustrating but you'll find it.

You have to be really carefull taking out the center bolt on the servo as it will easily strip the plastic gears underneath. I almost did the same thing when I took off my exhaust. The wheel underneath has electrical connectors that move with the motor and cables. Pull it out and open it up and see if the gears are stripped.

I just pulled the seat and turned the key on and the servo unit turned itself. If the gears were damaged would it still turn when you fliped the ignition to the on position. Two bros said to disconnect the batt for twenty to thirty min to dump the mem in the ecu but asccording to the owners man this ecu stores all the codes in its history.

the motor would still turn, but the cog, with the electrical connectors may not be spinning correctly. Its difficult to describe, but if you can see it turning, then it may be something else.

Due to the plastic gears, it may unnoticeably jumped some teeth while you applied torque to the pulley bolt, thus being in wrong possition now, throwing the code.

Thats good to hear!

Now a review an pix on the 2 Bros?

However, for anyone else that reads this thread in the future, never remove the gear from the servo by removing the bolt. Simply remove the cables because previous posters are correct about the plastic gears and the sensor that determines the motor is turning the proper amount.
