Question Exhaust valve dissconnect-how,why?

I read in another post you can dissconnect the exhaust valve,im guessig the one in the header? What is the point and does it affect the bikes power? It sounded like it would give the bike a better sound? If so how do you do this?

Search it, their's a bunch of threads, and Ivan (I think) makes a kit to remove all of the junk in the trunk that controls it so you have room for a power commander. No more power but it is louder below 6k.

Search button, dude!!!!!!! El Diablo did a how to w/pics. It was the consensus that it did not effect power at all, just noise. I did this mod last Sunday before I went out riding and my bike was significantly louder in the lower rpm's. Also do a searcjh on how to stop the buzzing in the front cowl between 3 and 5 thousand rpm's. Both of these were easy mods that make a big differenece in my opinion. But seriously the search button has magical powers.

You are only disconnecting the cables, not the servo motor so you do not get the FI light. The servo still operates, but there are no cables attached to it to operate the valve.
