Electrical issue???

I have a 2005 ZX10R, which I have just bought as a track bike. The bike was running perfectly but last ride, it doesn't like revving past about 8-9k it's like it's short of fuel or something. The effect is a bit like traction control. it does rev through it but it takes ages. If you rev the bike with the clutch in, it's perfect. It just seems to be under load... any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
