Dumb question on new zx10r '08 gas gauge

I see the place for it to show up on the left of the speedometer but it isn't lit up. The manual just says that another gauge over on the right lights up when there is 3.9 liters of fuel left. this cannot be the way the fuel gauge works.

not really

I think they use the same gauge cluster in the new zx-14 and it has sending units on the tank for actual gas level type readout. The 10R just has the low-level switches.

Wonder if it is along the lines of this: https://www.zx-10r.net/forum/showthread.php?t=35956

My idea of 'gun control' is putting as many bullets as I can into the same hole.

Iím all for gun control, I just define it a little differently. If you can put 2 rounds into the same hole from 25 meters, thatís gun control!

Do the words, 'Low Fuel' flash where the clock is at? You should see that and the orange fuel light on the left should come on.

Got it, new bike, no real fuel gauge!

Back to my habits of just fueling and setting the tripometer like on my zrx's broken fuel gauge
