chain or clutch or tranny????

i have a friend who has a 2003 zx9 and he just put a new clutch in it about a month ago. it is lowered and stretched to 13 inches. now he says that when he gets on it hard in high rpms his rpms jump and then its like his motor catches. i told him it could be his clutch. but it is new. and he had his bike at 7 inches and there was no problem. as soon as he went to 13 is when it started happening. and it only does it after the bike warms up he says. any input would be great thanks guys

Clutch!!!!

No expert but a tranny either works or it doesn't, tranny problems usually jumps out of gear or won't shift, something like that, a car's automatic tanny will slip but not your bike.
Same with chain, if the chains good and more important the sproket teeth and adjusted right, it shouldn't jump a tooth.

Proberly the Clutch

I vote chain. Especially since it is 13" over. That is a lot of extra chain and I bet it is getting up on top of the teeth every once in a while. My experience is that clutches do not slip and then suddenly bite again. I would closely examine every tooth on the sprockets for any signs of damage.

Don't confuse me with facts, my mind is already made up.
