Camera setup's?

Trying to get some info on camera setups, I like the small lipstick type on helmetcamera.com but has anybody here used one; will a sony hi-8 camera even fit in our tail section? I don't like the suction type on the tank, I've found a bracket that bolts to the gas cap ring but i don't want it to be in the way when tucked in or moving side to side. If anybody has a camera setup or tried different types let me know how you liked them. Also any recomendations on editting software.

I've tried the suction type that mounts on the tank, but it just gets in my way in the twisties. The helment mount is by far the best option for me.The only draw back would be you have to remember the cable that goes to your camera can be a distraction if left to loose. Also when mounted to your helment you have a better view of the road, and you surroundings. Hope this helps!

I've been thinking about camera's also. The lipstick type mounted in the ram air inlet would be sweet. I've foing precious little info on the net though. I want one that would just plug into a camcorder. I'd want the cancorder to have a remote rec/stop setup so that it could be straped to the rear seat. Anyone see a set up like this?

Do a search, we discussed this a while back and I dont feel like typing it again...I have both and the helmetcamera.com is okay but you need a mounting method, but the '200mph' velcro doesn't work. I sometimes velcro the lipstick camera on top of the gauge cluster, but with my dark tint screen not sure if it will still work too well.
I did the work for you:

Thumbs up

I have a cannon zr20 mini camcorder that fits nicely in a small fanny pack that I strapped on the back seat.I used the velcro on the side of my helmet to mount the lipstick camera (3m type that is often in your auto part's stores) I also purchased the remote to record or stop the camera whenever you want.I tried mounting it different places, but on the helmet seemed to work best for me. The web site for www.helmetcamera.com has useful information on what camcorders will work with it

I have the xtreme kit w/ 480 lines from http://www.helmetcamera.com/
It's a pretty tough little set-up. I've ony used it for dirt bike stuff thus far but I will be doing some street stuff soon.

I use the Sharp VL-Z5 mini dvcam http://www.nextag.com/Sharp_VL_Z5U_S...5z mainz2-htm

I would be happy to upload some video if any wants to host it?
I've got some great crash footage of me vs a 4 wheeler.

I capture the video via firewire connection and edit with video vegas 4.
it's a great setup and the quality is great.

I'm working on a rear view setup with bullet cam and the stock fender.
I'll post my results/how to when it's done if it works..

Your very welcome.
lmk if you need any help. I've been working with A/V for years
It's realy a pretty sweet set up with the mini-dv...
I have a demo version of the software if you would like to check it out? lmk

The bullet cam has a clear view through the hole on the fender where the Lic plate light was, with the heavy duty lense holder ta boot.
I just need to make something to make sure it is level.
The red circle portion is for the lens and the blue portion is being cut off.
What do you all think???

There is also a mount the bolts up to your passenger peg that is out there. You might want to do a search for one, since it sounds like it might work for you. The only downside is if you lay the bike down on the side with the camera its toast.
