budget motor bulid for 2008

Whats up guys.... Im new to this site and im looking for information on a budget motor build for my 2008 zx10r.
i do all my owner work on my bike so i am somewhat mechanically sound. these are the list of mods i have so far.
( 34xxx miles, full hindle exhaust, flashed and tuned, healtech quickshifter, lowered 3/4 inches in the front, -1 front sprocket, thinner head gasket (0.45) and set of gen1 zx10r cams) dyno shows 166 rwhp.

i was thinking of going back in and putting my stock intake cam back in but i thought if ima do that might as well just do a budget build. i have about $3500 to play with and i was wondering what would be the best way to build this for HP power. Im looking for about 180-190rwhp with all motor or as close as i can with the money i have to spend. i mainly do roll racing with friends and strip once a month or so. im thinking some 13.5:1 pistons and webcams with intake at .400/245 and exhaust at .384/272. This will cost me about $2500 which leaves me with about $1000. So is there anything else in my spending money i can use to help me achieve my goal, or maybe a different combination that will achieve this goal.
And yes i have looked in the search bar to try and find info on this, yall input is greatly needed and appreciated.
THANKS.......

Wuzzup!? And welcome! For that amount, and less, i did a full head job/porting with valve job and a Kawi race cam and milled head as well as the average full exh and intake mods and its a handful. I think if you go with bigger pistons/over bore you are looking at more serious heat issues than i currently have. If you're willing to tackle that issue then go for it. My Gen2 tries to dislocate my arms.

i do early gen zx10 budget builds, they make 180-185 on pump gas, 189-193 on oxy fuel depending on the fuel. can tell u drop in pistons are a waste of money also u can easily overcam these motors killing torque. that 400 web is 256 [email protected] .050, needs more compression than u can run on the street. mods i quoted are stk piston, well ported head, milled.015-.020, recut valve seats, .45mm hg, degreed gen 3 race int, stk. ex cam and a little throttle body work. have all injectors professionally cleaned/flowed and good throttle position dyno tune. stk valve springs good.mods i use make 86-87 ft lbs of torque, pulls like a freight train. building a engine is all about the right combination of parts and detail. know where there is a nice gen 3 race int for sale, not cheap but worth every penny as cams limited and costley now.proven combo, done right makes big mph. should be able to get all including tune about $2500.

where can i get this gen3 race intake cam and how much? ive looked everywhere for it, thats why i decided to go with webcams. but i would rather go with the race cam. i have been going back and forward about doing head work or pistons. This is not the first time ive heard someone say not to do the pistons but ive also heard head porting can be a waste too. i dont know much about recut valve seats have to look into it. but your combo does sound interesting. plz let me know where i can get this cam i want it for sure.

google compression vrs hp chart, plug in current comp/hp vrs 13.5 comp.hp. will answer ur questions about pistons especially for $$$ spent. ur seeking 15-25 hp basically, will not achieve that without a head with int/ex porting, mill, precise valve job that increases valve flow area and total valve seal at high rpm, and some work around valves in combustion chamber to increase flow. the mill and performance vj alone account for close to half the power a ported head makes, commonley referred to as a supersport head .ur doing mods that support each other and necessary for most power.head needs cam, cam needs head if u want it all. if u decide against porting do the mill/valve job minimium, worth about 7-8 hp $300-350. can recommend good
machinist for this. gen 1 tb's need more work, gen 2-3 are pretty good. smothing transistion to primary flies and removing flies/sec rods adds some power. pulling sec flies, leaving rods in just like the zx14, more mid power tuned, but in place naked sec rods cost 2+ hp loss up top. may consider trading up to gen 4 or 5. kaw already done the work.

degree int at 110-111, ex 106-108, plenty safe. seat recut will sink valves .006-.008, along with mill, .45mm hg ur good. never had a valve touch at this cam degree. u can shim stk valve springs .015 max after seat recut for little more spring pressure. generally about .055-.060 ptv both sides. safe number. just freshened up my 07, ecu flashed to 14k, we shift it at 13700 on tach which is actual 13000 on dyno. im geared very low, hit 6th early in the 1/4 , just let it pull thru at 14200 tach indicated at 160. same mods no ptv contact. every zx10 ive had on dyno tach reads about 700 high.
