Broken release spring?

I just noticed my release spring for my clutch (part #92145A on the diagram) is broke..dont know when it broke either. First question, can I keep riding with it broke? And second..do i have to pull the clutch cover off the bike to pull the release rod out to change the spring?

take the clutch cable loose from the rod, turn and lift out. that springs purpose is to keep the rod in proper position and tension to lock in with the pressure plate puller that releases the clutch.pay attention to its position before removal and when reinstalled, u may have to lift up just a little for it lock in place correctly. i would replace soon as it can get out of place and chew up the pressure plate puller.
