Bike wont start - fi light

Just tried to start my 05 up. It started, for like a second or 2, btu then I heard a pop (not very loud) and it just shut off. FI light is on and now the bike won't start no matter how long I try the starter. This is the second time this has happened in a year. Last time it happened while I was riding and the bike just shut off with a pop. What to do? I was just about to pick up a friend and go riding :(

put the bike in dealer mode using the small plug in your tail so you can pull the error code from the dash.....count the flashed and see what's wrong with her. download the manual if you don't have it already.

.
.
Take a risk, and you may lose. Never risk, and you will always lose.

you have a lil diagnostic plug underneath the drivers seat, you will need to ground that out and count the no# of flashes on the FI indicator and look in the service manual to find the problem.

strangely enough, i went downstairs, the FI light was on solid... I tried disconnecting the fuel pump, etc. FI light was still on. I cranked it, let it crank for a good 5 seconds, gave just a tiny bit of throttle, and it started right up. Let it warm up, turned it off. FI light is now gone and it works fine. WTF?
