Before Tune..

I have a first gen with a power commander, full exhaust, race filter, pc ignition module, and all short stacks. I'm about to take it to get tuned and was wondering if I needed a tre. I figured the ignition module would be able to advance the timing that was retarded, but the more I thought about i wasn't sure. If someone could help me out. Thanks I appreciate it.

advancing the timing that was retarded just gives you what you coulda had in the first place, then the module could advance the timing and gain performance.

I would go TRE.

2004 ZX10R-few mods here and there......
and even made more Evil by Woolich.

Yeah I have the secondaries removed. I actually removed the rod and all and filled the holes with jb weld. So basically your saying that the tre just opens the secondaries quicker?

If you have the ability to change the ignition timing and the secondary throttles are not there, the TRE wouldn't seem to serve a purpose.

Helibars, MRA screen, Ohlins damper, reversed shift pattern, sorted suspension, braided lines, Michelin Pilot Power, all else stock 'coz it's fast enough!

I'm excited to see how it runs with a good tune and the timing advanced.
