Arrow Mid-Pipe on Stock System?

Tried a search but didn't see anything specific...

Does anyone know if the Arrow Mid-pipe (which replaces the catalytic converter) will fit the 06 ZX10?

I don't need/want the full system or slip-ons just yet, but wouldn't mind ditching the cat if it's possible. Apparently it'll fit up to the headers, but I don't know if it'll fit the rest of the system?

I did send Arrow an Email but I have no idea if/when I'll hear from them.

Thanks!

Well I'd like to keep the parts intact and replaceable if I ever need to add them back in down the road, for whatever reason. Plus I can get the Arrow mid-pipe at around cost so it might be worth the purchase ya know?

I've got the arrow mid and slip ons. Though I never put it on with the oem cans, it ought to work.

That's what's cool about Arrow - you can use the slip ons, slip ons with mid, or upgrade later with their header (which eliminates the mid) and use the same slip ons.

Actually I believe the mid pipe part number is the same for both kits (full and bolt on) so it makes it that much easier if you want to buy the whole system over time. At least with Tucker Rocky, you have the option to buy all pieces of the system individually.

The only difference I have found is between the systems above, and the full Competition system which comes as a complete kit.

Here's a pic of what's going on - the full system header actually replaces the cat mid pipe and the exhaust valve mid pipe.

Aaaaaah gotchya gotchya. So it even says it'll fit the stock silencers. Is it safe to say it'll fit the stock headers too? Just to clear up any confusion.

Yup - it fits the stock headers and the stock exhaust valve / cans. So you can do arrow's slip ons (cans and exhaust valve replacement) arrow's mid (cat replacement), or both. And if you want the header assembly it hooks up to the cans in place of both mids (cat and exhaust valve). Clear as mud?

Swarovski clear.

I guess my next question would be: Is the cat quite restrictive? Or is it more of just a slight sapping of power?

I've never dealt with Cats on a bike before... So it's new territory for me.

I have not seen an A/B/C comparison between oem cat/gutted cat/replacement mid. People have said that there is a slight gain to be had by getting rid of the cat, and that there is no gain with a replacemnt mid over a gutted cat, but I have not seen any data to prove it.

My gut feeling is that the replacement should flow better than the gutted one just based on looks. Ever notice how the best pipes always seem to have the nicest smooth organic looking bends and joints? But, like you, I mostly didn't want to gut the stocker in case it ever needs to go back on. I've never priced one from kawi, and I never want to have to
