93 Vs. E85 Vs. MR12 Dyno

Hey guys, did a dyno comparison of some fuels and I thought I'd share with you guys....

I've dyno'ed 93 Vs E85 but today I was able to do a MR12 run with some tuning on the dyno.

Looks like up until about 10,000 E85 pulls the same hp as MR12 and then the E85 starts to fall off. Guhl says with maybe some timing adjustment as well as fuel pressure I could pick up the E85 gains up top but MR12 for sure picked up some good power.


So close to a 200hp :headshake

what sort of fueling adjustment did you make for the mr12? as opposed to the fuel that you corrected for the e85

also id imagine weather conditions play a big part in a comparision like this. The e85 pulls were done on a different day than the mr12 correct?

Im also interested in knowing about the fuel map changes for the different fuels.

And e85 is a lot cheaper than m12...

the MR12 actually liked the air fuel around 12.8:1 on the dyno but well see what she likes on the street, was about 6-8% difference between 93 vs mr12

the E85 likes about 45% more fuel.

Yes they were done on different days so power could vary slightly but the dyno does read the air temp, humidity and baro pressure to give you a close number between weather situations.

I'm still happy with the results so far, just have to see what kinda mph she pulls!

yeah E85 is making almost the same power as MR12 up until it gets up top. So maybe with higher fuel pressure and some timing changes I can tune it to keep making that extra power

As for e85 you usually see the biggest difference over say 93 where the engine makes it's peak torque. My bike turned into a midrange monster picking up almost 12 hp @ 9500 but only like 4 up top. Honestly all those #'s are about what I'd expect. I've seen other bikes put up bigger differences with mr12 but yours seem pretty reasonable.
