190/55 to 180/55 ride height question

Hey guys I'm wanting to switch my stock 190/55 rear tire with a 180/55 rear tire for the fact that people say it handles better and they are cheaper then 190/55. The question I have is I have a Olins TTX out back, and I have had my suspension geometry set up. I know I'm gonna loss some height out back when i switch to the 180/55, does anybody know how much height so i can add it back by adjusting the ride height on the shock. I figured I'd ask the experts here cause they probably been there and done that.

gotta measure...different tire brands and models are sized differently.

you'll want to raise the rear by the difference between the radius of each tire formulated from their circumferences. (r= C/6.28)

I think that you will have a smaller contact patch if you change tire size. There is a reason that they only put the 180s on 600's. All the litters run a 190 if you want to save a couple of bucks go with the 190 50 instead of the 55, But imho the 180 would be a bad idea even with the suspension change.

Send a message via AIM to garth285
if you convert the tire sizes

190/55 = 25.22"
180/55 = 24.79"

so if those are anywhere near correct on what an actual tire is (depending on manufactures) the tire will be 0.43" smaller so you will be sitting 0.215" lower on the ground....
