i got my new swingarm on a few days ago. very easy to install. break the chain, remove wheel, remove swingarm. mount new swingarm, mount wheel and press the chain.
im still using the 05 dogbone and links but may try the 08 links (appear 3-4mm longer) later. from ridin around town the bike feels very different. the front seems to be a bit more loaded and rear ride height may have increased a few mm. ive got oem forks up front and a penske tripple in the rear. iam gonna see what kind of adjustments i can make when i go out for the twisties (on dcIII's) on wednesday and will report back....... :helmet:
got my camera workin finally
fitted the monoblocks

went out for a ride today and took it easy for the majority of the ride but rode a lil more aggressive towards the end. feels like it turn in quicker, probly cuz the rear sits a lil higher now. no stability problems, feels like it couldve came stock like this. it put a tad more pressure on my wrists but i didnt have the stompguard to keep me positioned. overall... good bang for the buck!
Attack has been sending out shorter heel guards for the left side of the 08. Supposedly it could hit the swingarm. You can buy it seperately by calling them if you think it might be an issue. I bought one.
I did not actually weigh them, but the 08 actually seemed a little lighter, the 04 is basically what looks to me like a standard 98-98 zx9r arm (or something like it) that they modified and welded several parts together to come up with what they got, the o8 is large cast pieces and welded together.
so it starting to seem damn near anything from any 10 will fit any other 10 now i just gotta decide which arm to stretch for my 10 that shit does look good gonna look real good wit them white wheels
^^ haha naw its just lazy typin.
thanx for the positive feedback fellas!
i didnt notice any problems w/ heelguard clearance. i dunno if i could use shorter heelguards, my when i was ridin yesterday i noticed my feet were on top of the heelguards. one foot halfway on the swingarm and the other on the exhaust can.... and i only wear 12's! thought it was funny at the time.
and i didnt weight the swingarms i did hold them both at the same time for comparison, and id have to agree w/ 9r. the 08 swingarm is just a tad lighter.
I would agree with 9r as well the 04 swing arm LOOKS like a ZX9R with welded parts BUT only on the left side and that is just some tubes that goes to the front and then the beefier right side.
The main thing though is the material seems to be the same light stuff the Frame of the 1st Gen is and we all know how light the 1st Gen is. :1848:
.....and the 08 swing arm is much beefier than a 1st gen with most likely the same material/composites so I would be very surprised if the 08 swing arm is lighter, I think they need to be weighed other than the Arm check unless it's calibrated.
hey man, do you still have the 05 swingarm? i could use some measurements off of it, or maybe even buy it, trying to see what it would take to put a 10r swingarm/rim on the 12.
