what gear am I in

Does everyone but me count what gear your in at the track? It just seems like I get so caught up at riding fast that I forget to count and get lost. Then someone will ask what gear I was in and I have to hang my head and say I don't know. help me with some tips.

It will take ya some time but you will get it figured out specially if you are doing a trackday at the same track over & over.Just keep your mind sharp & the distractions down trackday is what it is a trackday you will figure out what you need to do.

I really don't pay attention to what gear I am in. Matter of fact what RPM or speed either. Its all feel in my opinion. I have a data logger that I use that tells me all of that. And I use feel to adjust brake points and shift points and what not. Visual markers and so forth. I have enough to worry about at that pace then to worry about what gear and RPM and speed I'm at.

When you get better rider at the track the gears you travel will change. So better concentrate on your riding than what gear you are in.

The track is the only place that I always know what gear I'm in. Well, except for now with the gear indicator on the '08. It's great not having to search for 7th gear anymore.

Next time you're at the track make a conscientious effort to always know what gear you're in. I always pick something that I'm lacking in to work on, I've got too many things to eliminate to work on them all at once.
