Well, motorbikes are funny things, as Meandri has proven. He rode well on the Honda but sucks the Duck....

Maybe the Kawi suits him, maybe it won't... Until he rides it, we won't know.

He could very well gell with it and be a podium fighter....

Look at Stoner... Went from being a crasher on the 990 Honda, to suddenly world champ on the 800 Duck. Whether it's the change in capacity or the different feel of the bike, he went from competitive, to winner...

Another thing... Stoner is just about the only Duck rider who does well... That's got to say something...

Thumbs down Me thinks not !

Hopkins was a serious podium contender last year and has so far failed dismally, thanks to constant mechanical breakages and a lack of decent set-up. As for West, he's a journeyman who won't be in MotoGP next year.

Now why on earth would Kawasaki be hunting for a rider who is generally at the very back of the field in most races this season ? Guys, we already have two riders who fulfil that requirement !!

If you pay peanuts, you get monkeys. If Kawi is serious about getting on the podium again, they need to do three things ...

1. Sack the entire mechanical & race crew - and start again !
2. Get a development team that can produce a decent bike & set-up
3. Pay top dollar for a top rider - Max or Sete may be options ?

I'm afraid Melandri is now a WSB contender (at best) for next season ...

Me believes you missed it horribly.

Are you aware Marco went quite well when riding the honda??? hence the reason Ducati sought out his services for 08 so NO he is not someone that has always been in the bottom 3rd results wise.

Do you really think firing the entire crews and starting over is the answer?? absolutely not as it puts them even further behind.

Yes paying top $$$ sounds good but who is avail that fits that bill?? it sure as hell isn't Max or sete. the choices of top tier riders is very small and most are contracted so they get who they can and hope they are able to get development data to further their program.

I really thought that Melandri would have riden the Duc better. It is really amazing to see how different bikes change a rider. Casey was a perfect example of that. I am glad that we don't have Randy "the crashing frechman" DePuniet anymore....but is Ant doing that much better? At least Randy got out there and rode his balls off....until he crashes of course.

Here is a random side question. What is the whole deal w/ Biaggi? I keep hearing remarks while watching some of the full coverage GP races that everyone hates him and he burned a lot of bridges on his way out the door? WTF is that all about?

Oh...and I think Sete will be riding for Ducati after Laguna

We're all getting older but not growing up.....
