Sprocket Set Up

i have a 15 on front and 42 on the rear. i ran a best 9.4 on this set up. im 210lbs and when i had the 15 front and stock 39 on back, i had a 140lbs guy do a 9.3....plus his mph was 150 and mine was 145..........heres my question- i have slowed down draggin my bike here lately. doing a little more riding on the street. im gonna put the stock gears front and back on it.......before i go to the track, if i keep the front stock, would it hurt if i put the 42 on the back............im gonna change sprockets after about 5 passes to see which is the best, but i wanna make sure it wont hurt my bike or chain if i had the 17front 42rear set up.......

What is done to your bike. Those are some good times. and to answer your question no it will not hurt unless your chain insn't long enough.

i mostly drag race....every once in a while i will ride around but im gonna start here soon... getting too hot to drag race. wearing that leather will kill ya. i was running around 6k at 80 mph with the 15 front 42 rear. i changed the rear to stock and it was still the same. i guess the front sprocket is making the high rpms and not the rear..
