Why they do not just send him to MGP next year is beyond me, I would love a Colin and Ben Tech 3 Team. He could not possibly do worse than James Toseland, he should be gone from MGP, he don't have what it takes.

...just read this too. I also don't understand why he/they wants to stay in WSBK another year. Even if it is some of the best racing going on right now.

I think it has its advantages. Get more time on the European tracks, though hes proven a quick study, and it will give him another year to truly become a 'veteran' of traveling on the World level, and it will also give MotoGP a year to sort out the engine limitation scenario that seems to be giving at least Yamaha fits. Nowadays you have one shot and have to perform right away in MotoGP so he should be as seasoned as possible.

I agree. as much as i love GP, WSBK is so much more fun to watch (especially supersport). Ben is finding his groove, and like was said before he is learning the tracks as he goes.

I agree. I think the more track time the better. Spies is an incredible sbk racer and has tons of talent IMO. Have to admit he rides the hell out of that Yamaha. Also I a huge fan and I think it would be nice for him to have the title wsbk.

I'm thrilled he's in WSBK for another year as opposed to going to MotoGP. I don't even try to hide the fact that while I watch MotoGP, it is motorcycle racing afterall, its EXTREMELY BORING to watch. Its boring racing. They're not close, competitive, or anything. Its 2, 3, sometimes 4 guys absolutely running away from everyone else.

The reason Spies is staying in WSBK is because he wouldn't be very competitive in GP. He is too big. He would be like Hayden and Edwards, giving up 30 pounds right out of the box. Plus the Europeans want European riders and champions. Why do you thing they changed to the smaller engines? Why do you think they went with the less fuel requirements? All the recent rule changes were changed specifically to give the advantage to the freakishly small European riders in GP. The only reason there are any Americans in GP is to get a larger fan base and try to expand their revenue stream. If anything Hayden and Edwards should leave the pile that is GP and go to WSBK. That would make for some sweet racing.

If you gotta ask you can't afford it.
