Question Should I Buy this Bike For Track Days?

Hey guys, I'm looking to pick up a fairly new (if not brand new) track bike. I was thinking about buying an '06 zx 636r until I came across this deal on one of the classifieds of the sportbike forums. It's an '05 gixxer 750 with 1500 miles (all track miles). The guy said he bought it and raced it a few times along with some track days but he got into supermoto racing so the bike just sits. He's asking $7900 and he lives about an hour and a half from me. He bought the bike brand new and immediately sent it to a local shop to convert to track/racing purposes. He claims it was professionally maintained by an AMA technician after each use. The bike has the following upgrades: CRG levers, Ohlins damper, Ohlins rear shock, Traxxion 20mm front cartridge, PCIII, Dynojet Quickshifter, Attack rearsets, Yoshimura TRC full system, 520 chain/gearing, Galfer Lines, NRG Engine Covers, & Sharkskinz plastics.

Oh and The bike has never been crashed; pics below. Do you think this is a good deal? I'm just looking at all the $$ I'll have to spend on the 636 along with getting a good deal from the stealership and this seems like a decent deal.

Beautifull toy. But even with all the goodies the price seems a little high. A brand new 750 only cost about 1K more.

But if you buy brand new it will lose that much plus some once you get it out of the dealer. Plus it has about 2500 or so worth of accessories I think it is a good deal do not think that you would be able to get a new bike set up that way for that price and even if you did it would not be worth that much more if any.

1,500 track miles and hasn't crashed yet? He isn't tryin hard enough

Seriously though it looks like a really nice bike.
Price is in line with a used street version and with only 1,500 miles, though hard miles, the bike is still nearly new

The '06 is supposed to be a much improved machine though.

Yeah, it's "supposed" to be much improved but I'm not sure how much improved it really is. According to the Supersport Track shootout review here: http://www.motorcycle-usa.com/Articl...ID=3382&Page=3 the gixxer came in 5th place. Although the points between 5th place and 3rd place were miniscule it still didn't come in the top 3. The main point that was said about the new gixxer 600 (which I'm sure can be transferred to the 750 since they are nearly identical) is it didn't excel in any one category-- that is it did not leave a lasting impression like most of the other bikes did.
