Shoudl I put new rubbers or not for track

I'v got my first trakday schedule with the ZX nest week.

I got Pilot Powers on it right now and althought the front is fine, maybe half worn, the rear is at the wear indicator in the center...with a slight flat spot.

My question is:

Should I put new rubbers on or are these OK for a trackday...

Keep in mind I probably be in the slow / intermediary group.

thanks

Put a new set on man. Better to be safe than sorry while at the track. They may not even pass you through tech. Actually I hope they wont for the safety of the other riders. Just switch them out.

they are barely acceptable for a street ride let alone a trackday even if your in the slow group. This is NOT the area to skimp.

Spoon a new set on and get comfy as you will progress faster and safer.

Have fun.

Well I guess I just thought after seeing many racers take-offs (tires) that the sides get used more then the center as opposed to street riding...I ordered a new set...

I guess scrubbing new tires on the track you just gotta take like a 3-4 laps at least and go progressivelly faster with more and more lean angle in the corners?

Yeah scrub them in in a few laps and you will be good to go. If you are looking for good takeoffs I will have some here shortly.
