SBK Donnington **SPOILERS**

Spies closed the gap on Haga by 34 points this week.

And it looks like he probably will win the championship the way nobody wants to see it won. :headshake

Yep it loks like Haga may mis a few rounds. Although his vertabrae breaks may not be what they thought they were, I just read that they may have actually been from a old incident.

Man, it looked like Spies was a man amongst boys out there... Simply amazing!

I don't think we should hand him the trophy just yet with Haga out, Fabritzio (sp?) might have a little something to say about it.

SAw that too. But now he has a broken wrist to deal with also. Can't imagine having to deal with that in a race situation...but I'm sure he will.

This championship just got interesting. My money is on Spies.

His perfomance proves that old saying 'the bike is only 10% and the rider is the other 90%' Hopper's pretty good, but I'd love to see Ben on a kawi.

Haga can never seem to catch a good break. Feel bad for him. I wanted him to retire with a championship, and though the season is not yet over, I think it's Ben's to lose now...I have a feeling that this might be his last year too.

I think where Spies is underestimated is his control of his lap times. It is absolutely amazing. He can put on tenths AT WILL and slow the entire pace down AT WILL. Like he has said in interviews "I had to put my head down and go."

I find it absolutely amazing he can simply shave a second or more off his lap times AT WILL when under pressure, getting caught, etc, etc.

I absolutely hate to hear about Haga's injuries - although he does have 3 weeks to recover before the next race, so he has that going for him.

What makes this championship race absolutely amazing is the sportsmanship of ALL the top competitors. They respect one another on and off the track, and are friends at that. In VERY few race series do you hear one congratulating, praising, or up-talking other races during the podium interviews.
