I took both of mine to the dragstrip to compare apple to apples. The 08 ran a .10-.15 quicker and consistantly runs 2-2.5 mph higher in trap speeds.

They are both a pain in the a-- to drag race compared to my zx14.

nice blanket statement...you do know a 08 is geared better and can't do over 104mph stock like a 1st Gen in first gear right and weighs less than 400lbs with just a slip-on? Also, a 1st Gen is shorter than a 08 10R so if your liking the zx14 better it shows you like LOONG bikes to go fast and the 08 is closer to your 14 than a 1st Gen so maybe that's why your getting better times as well and trap speeds....fyi I can get 145mph on my old dog 1st Gen pure stock with 20kmiles on the Odometer.

No bud, if you want to compare the 2 Gens right make sure the Gearing is exact and they are lowered the same with the SAME Wheelbase...that is a Pure apples to apples with You on it and something I never seen on this site so I will be impressed if you can do it.

Can't forget that undercut first gear on the 08-09's as well blue.

At its core, the Ninja ZX-10R is a motorcycle built for the accomplished rider who can fully appreciate its capabilities--whether put to the test at a racetrack, or merely the focus of bench-racing conversation. It is, by all standards, the embodiment of the ultimate superbike.

if your talking about the Gearing in first than I think I already addressed that...the 2nd and 3rd Gens have better gearing for drag racing plus Looonger and maybe the extra weight helps keep them down and center of gravity.....there is no doubt some bikes are going to be EASIER to ride out of the hole on the drag strip but to say a bike is superior by almost .2tenths of a second with NO real comparision other than you don't know how to ride a 1st Gen fast is

Well I could get with R&D and get a lower first gear for my 04. However, when I say apples to apples I'm refering to bone stock to bone stock as delivered from the dealership. It would be nice to have all of them drag prepped and give the 04-05 a shorter first gear ratio.
