Launching the 10

I have a couple of questions for those of you who are drag racers. I plan on running my 06 strapped and with the 06 r6 scorpion slip on next week. Now, Ive heard from some actually a girl on a 02 gixxer1k that when she launches she launches full throttle and basically dumps the clutch right after the 60ft. Is this right? I have stock gearing and I understand for right now the way my bike is set up I should continue to slip aout of the hole. Her bike was slammed without extensions and she is running consistent 9.50's. In 2 weeks I will be adding the 16t for the front. Should I try full throttle out of the hole with it strapped? Any advise will help. After this winter I will have the bike slammed, extended, 1- in the front, 2+ in the back, pc3, bmc, tre, and later a 30 shot. Thanks

You have to be very smooth with the clutch and ease it all the way out. If you dump it your going to wheelie. That is one thing I'm trying to get over now. I will launch good, but then I'll get out 100ft. or so and think I've been riding the clutch to long and I'll throw it away and it pulls the wheel up. Seat time is a big plus on any bike especially a stock wheelbase bike. When you change your gearing I think you mean -1 front and +2 rear. Right? You can go full throttle out the hole, but clutch release is that much more important. Good luck and keep us posted.

Is 10000rpm's to much to launch at? All stock but strapped in the front do you think it is possible to leave the line full throttle?

I've launched at 9500 before, but I worked my way up to that point. Yes it's possible but like I said seat time and your clutch release will be the key for running some good numbers.

Buddy of mine leaves at 9500 stock wheel base on his 06. He slips it out a few feet but hes also lowered and straped.

Okey guys, this might be a real stupid question, but I would like to know how to strap the bike, and also if you could explain the advantages to me.
I decided its better to drag the 05. It makes more top end power, and you its easier to get the weight right down. TopEnd horses and low weight is important for acceleration when I last gave it a thought.

then for fun I drive a british racing green MINI Cooper S
