here is my favorite part

There was wide speculation at Miller last weekend that the Suzuki, Kawasaki and Honda factory and or factory-supported teams will be exiting the current AMA/DMG roadrace series after this season concludes.

LOL thats so stupid the only reason they are prob doing this is to drum up sales for them damn harley's / buells I think things are just getting worse and worse with the current Nascrap owners, I think alot of factory teams are gonna be leaving that crap and just either not race or go to a different series unless someone else buys them fools at DMG out...

Official safety bike. Big deal. What exactly is the problem with this? Lots of racing series have "official this" and "official that"...

you don't find that a bit odd? a safety bike?

and this

"Presumably it will be replacing the safety car"

The other manufacturers threatened to not participate in the DMG series all last winter, and here they are. *That* part of it seems like political posturing.

Withdrawing from certain racing activities on the grounds of the economic situation is quite another possibility; it has happened before and it WILL happen some more!

Helibars, MRA screen, Ohlins damper, reversed shift pattern, sorted suspension, braided lines, Michelin Pilot Power, all else stock 'coz it's fast enough!

I think that it is not so much the fact that they are replacing the safety car with a bike but, that it is a Buell. This further fuels the fire of an 1125cc machine being allowed to compete against the 600cc inline fours.
