Hello, I thought Bayliss retired

I read this article on Super Bike Planet....

Is this just Hype for 2009?

If not it would be something to see for sure.....................

Its just BS. There has been talk for a few years about the two meeting on the same track on the WSBK stage for kind of a battle of the riders event to see what rider is truly the better rider.

It would be cool to see Rossi ride a couple WSBK races. Last years R1 was fairly competitive, so maybe if the new bike shows promise... I wonder if Rossi commited to those 2 races if Bayliss would talk to Ducati about having a bike for him for those two rounds...

Rossi has no competition. That man is better than Tiger Woods in his sport of golf. I am glad to be watching him and cheering him on. If he were to take the track with the new R1 look out man that would be something to see.

Rossi doing WSBK races?!? Yeah right. Next thing they're gonna say is he's testing and racing rally cars and F1 cars or something. Cool idea though.

Rossi did race superbikes when he was with Honda, however it was in the Suzuka 8hr races. That would be an awesome exhibition battle if Rossi and Bayliss were thrown in there as wildcards in one of next years WSBK events. Bayliss would have the advantage however, after racing the F08 last year, I'm sure the championship winning F09 probably isn't too different. The R1 is a new untested design and Rossi unfamiliar with the bike. Part of Rossi's magic is working around problems in set up and if he brings Burgess with him, he'll undoubtedly be in for a good scrap.
