I read that not to long ago very interesting. What will be more interesting if seeing who jumps to WSBK in 2010.

Man what he wrote in there is all black and white and the truth and i think with every race they run they are loosing more and more fans... Its gonna be nothing more than a big laughing stock by the end of the season, and I hope that someone else will take over for next year and get those dumb ass Nascrap rules and bullshit out of motorcycle racing and go back to where they belong on 4 wheels and no where near two wheel racing...

i love how the commentators are always trying to comment on how close the racing is and how much better this year is over past years

I gave up on american racing when I saw Jamie Hacking on a ZX6R racing an 1125cc Buell (can't remember the riders name). Talk about tailoring the series to favor the american manufacturer. I don't know how they could possibly justify that. Sure Ducati and the other shops that run twins get a break on the capacity of their bikes in the euro series, but the 1098 runs against liter bikes, not 600s! To Hacking's credit he caught the Buell in the corners but had to watch him pull away everytime on the straights.

This is probably old news to you all but I was infuriated when I saw that.

I just went to the AMA website just to double check the requirements for the Daytona Superbike series cause I thought I might have been confused, and this is what I found:

Eligible Bikes: Yamaha YZF-R6, Suzuki GSX-R600, Honda CBR600RR, Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R, Buell 1125R, Aprilia RSV1000R, Ducati 848, Triumph Daytona 675

It's even worse than I thought, I didnt realize that the Ducati wasn't even the 1098! They should have just handed Buell the trophy at the first race in Daytona. I used to have a lot of respect for Buell for trying some crazy stuff with his bikes, but this is just ugly. Maybe it was the Harley jerk offs that lobbied for this series. Everything I've read or seen about Eric Buell suggested that he is a stand up guy so I can't imagine he would want to win like this.

it is questionable to me how good it can be for the Buell brand to need such a significant displacement advantage to win races

I taped the last ama superbike race.... or whatever the hell it's called now, saw mladin get like a 15 second lead, and fell asleep. Do they even air the supersport races?

I will not watch anymore after seeing this. The commentators can't get out of the way of their own words. Most of the time they don't make any sense, and jumble words constantly. it's pathetic.

I understand the need to be more competitive, but 1200cc vs 600 is just ridiculous, WSBK and GP have always been were it's at. it's sad to see the American series go in the garbage, since there is tons of talent. Look at what spies has done already in the world series. I wish there was something I could do.

^^^ Exactly to the three above posts.

How the hell can Duc get only an 848 but the Buell is a 1125? They are both liquid cooled twins, so why can't Ducati run the 1098 or 1198? 1200cc's is the limit with air-cooled, which Buell is getting even though they are running a liquid-cooled Rotax engine. Of course Ducati can't run a 1198 against the 599 Jap bikes, because there would be some major bitching going on, and justifiably so! So how the hell is it that Buell can run such a large displacement? All credibility goes out the window when you look at this biased bullshit. Buell has some wins now, and IMHO it is just pathetic. Hooray! You just beat a 600 with an engine with twice the cc's and torque. Buell for the win! It's too bad because I really don't have any hate for Buell bikes now that they don't have that turd of a powerplant in them, but at the same time I can't give any credit to Buell for wins when it is so biased towards them. If I were a Jap manufacturer, I would start running 1200cc twins and tell AMA to SAC.

man this is nuts. truthfully this is my first season to really want to pay attention to professional sportbike racing and after reading this i'm already disappointed!

haha, not really, but it is a bit of a bummer to see bullshit like this going on.
