Thanks for the update, I'm aware just now of the unfortunate death of a racer during the actual WERA event and wanted to just clear up my previous post.
After re-reading my post I realized it sounded potentially offensive to WERA and other WERA racers. I apologize to both parties and would like to clarify that my comments.
I clearly understand the competitive nature of WERA and its racing class members and understand that accidents,crashes and even death can occur at these high levels of competition my disparaging remarks were intended more towards Fasttrack for "mixing" racers with track day enthusiasts (in 2008) and that this mixture was extremely dangerous.
I'm glad to hear that the fasttrack event on 1/3/09 was uneventful and that most everyone got their track time in without incident. Again I am also very sorry to hear of the unfortunate accident that followed shortly during the sanctioned WERA event.
