Endurance racing a Ninja 250 ?

Been looking at a cheaper way to race & thought endurance racing an 08 Ninja 250 in the mini class would be cheaper than trying to race a 600 in BBE

What do you guys think?

Guess you gotta upgrade the suspension, put on some race fairings, & safety wire it.

Wonder if you can do GP shift mod to the stock stuff?

I've done an Endurance race on a 600rr it was 4hrs and 3 riders. Doesn't sound like much but i sure was bagged by the end of it.
In England and some asian countries there are some scooter endurance racing going on. The way i look at it is racing is racing. It only gets boring when the field is to small. Look at GP's best bikes in the world and more often not the most boring races to watch as there are only a few people out there.
Being on a 250 would be awesome if there was 20/30 people on the grid. Imagine piling into the 1st couple of corners 3 or 4 bikes wide.
So yeah. If the field is big enough why not give it a go?

I heard you can get almost a whole season out of a set of tires on a 250.
Seems too good to be true !

Big bikes need replacing after each race - and at least the rear replaced during an 8 hour!

dang - 8 hours is a long time to race - would have to work up to that !

Seems like as long as there is someone to race (lots of other bike for an endurance race) it would be fun. The most boring thing would be "racing" for hours if there wasn't anyone to chase or chase you.

I started off on a 2001 EX 250. Yes you can GP shift a 250. And you can do clutchless shifting relatively easy too. Nothing beats riding around corners full throttle and barely touching the brakes.

Took it to Streets of Willow for Keith Code's Superbike School and was beating 600's into corners. Coming out was a different story...
