So was anyone other then me shocked to see Danny Eslick on the Buell do so well? Other then the whole duct tape and zip tie "joke!"{{HAHA it's called 100MPH tape not 200 MPH tape!!!!!}} He was on point on that pig! if they get the bike to hold up, not blow up or catch fire! he may do well this year!!!

Eslick is a pretty talented rider and he's on a fast bike, reliability still questionable for the 200 though. I think it will be much better in the sprint races. Still the class rules seem odd to me, 1100cc+ twins vs 600cc fours. Then ducati, which is a twin is limited to 848cc. I don't get it. DMG, go figure.

They should have jettisoned that Hardley Ableson motor a long time ago.

Eslick has talent and if that pile of metal can stay in one piece and not break down he will be winning races this year

NESBA #88

Madness Racing wishes he could handle the power of a GSXR

rules make absoulutely no sense either, in years past, the excuse was, well they were air cooled, but now they are water cooled so you tell me why they can run a 1125, and Ducati can only run a 848, (which IMHO a 748 was already unfair against the 600's. WTF is the DMG smoking. Have you checked out their web page, it is a fucking joke!

Another wierd thing, Shawn Higbee is racing a 1125 in superbike too

Shit in the AMA/DMG is FUBR!

Yeah, but it would be like NASCAR, making Toyotas run their 6 Cylinder Camrys, and letting Ford and GM keep running V8's, it makes no sense to hadicap the Japanese bikes just because they can make a better performing bike with less CC's.
So even if Buell does win a few races (which I would not mind seeing) it seems kinda unfair, like NHRA and the Harely deal. I mean, that 1125 makes what like 135hp at the wheel right off the floor, I would imagine the Formula Extreme 600's are pusing it to get to that even fully modified.

...and a good 30+ lbs.-ft. of additional torque.

I haven't looked at the rules...

But maybe the Buell is pretty much stock except for what is needed to make it race ready?? At least in that class... Maybe it is allowed more mods to run in the Superbike class.

Maybe the same applies to Ducati.... Maybe they (Ducati) think that it is better to run a fully moded 848 instead of a nearly stock 1198.

Weren't there also some Aprilia RSV1000s, boxer BMWs, and some Triumph 675s in the field? Interesting mix of machines... Could make the racing interesting if they were all competitive in their own way.

i also do not know about the handicap rules, if there are things that restrict everyone else to maintain the competitiveness of one brand then that is kinda gay
