brake markers 101

I want to start working on my braking markers but I'm having trouble trying to spot them while cornering at speed especially if the track dosn't have any reference points. any tips? what kind of markers do you use and how do you go about figuring out what you'll use at speed? thanks

Most of tracks here in SoCal have cones in the braking zones so it's pretty

easy ....no cones, I'll try to spot a mark or a patch on the track..

You cant slow down at the track and look for markers right. Start with down shift and application of breake when you come to the turns and you should see your markers from the corner of your eyes. I hope it helps.

...or if available something along the edge of the track. Just about anything that will be there the whole time will do. As for figuring out what marker to use at speed, just pick one that works at a comfortable pace for you and then as you start going quicker pick a new marker.

Keep on the gas hard then when you see the turn coming and get that uneasy feeling in the pit of your gut wait and count out a few Mississippi's, then brake.
