AMA Pro Racing changes weight limits

In general...
http://amaproracing.com/assets/AMAPr...ll-2009-07.pdf

Specifically for the Buell 1125...
http://amaproracing.com/assets/AMAPr...ll-2009-08.pdf

Fours lose 5 lbs... Now 360.
Tripples lose 10 lbs... Now 365.
Twins are now at 380 lbs.

Will it make any difference?
Will the Buell riders start whining because they have to carry more weight?

I got those links here:

You got that right! Buell should be in the Superbike class anyway. Of course they can beat 600's.

How come the Aprilia isn't doing better? It definitely has a better motor than the Buell.

If you gotta ask you can't afford it.

You need to read a few of the reviews last year of the 1125R vs the RSV100R, the Buell really wipes the floor with the RSV1000R, the Buell is really pretty respectable, I know most of you guys hate it, but don't write it off it is a pretty legit performer.

I read today in RRW, that the Factory Buell's could not get within 20lbs of the previous minimum weight, so I am thinking, unless they were lying, this change is not going to effect anything at all. We will see, what they need to do is let 4's have 750CC, that would alow the Gixx750 and the other 600's to run some pretty extreme bore/stroke based 600's.

Years ago it was thought to be OK to run 750cc fours vs. 1000cc twins... That ended up not really being fair... What made them think that smaller fours would be competitive vs. even bigger twins... Even with the weight and power limits, it seems like a no brainer to me...

Well, it has been a few races since the weight rule change... Eslick on the Buell is barely cracking the top 10.

How long until they take weight off the Buells to make them more competitive again?
