AMA/DMG vs. MIC... History about to repeat itself??

http://www.roadracingworld.com/news/...?article=34316

And you'll notice who from the MIC was involved back in the mid-90s... And it is more than likely just going to cost the MIC lots of money...

Oh man, what a mess. Guess we'll sit back, and see how it pans out this time.

Not sure that greedy would be my first thought...

Stupid, maybe.

If MIC wants their own race series, they need to get their heads out of their asses if they want to race in the US in 2009. The MIC has nothing in place. Nada, zero, nothing... Sketchy rules (at best), no tracks, no TV, no air fence... Nothing... They got their 1000cc classes that they wanted added to the new AMA/DMG program. So stop the bs, and start getting ready for the 2009 season.

"Stupid" describes the positions of Honda and Suzuki in all this. Suzuki in particular seem to have burned a lot of bridges behind them. Their actions don't seem to indicate that they want to co-operate with DMG at all, but if they're waiting for an alternate series to magically appear out of nothing ... I'm not optimistic about this MIC/USSB thing happening, and I'm just a regular outsider looking in.

EVERYONE knows that splitting US roadracing in two is a bad thing. EVERYONE. To me, it's quite apparent that the DMG series is going to happen, and the MIC series would require quite a number of almost-simultaneous miracles to happen for 2009. Maybe 2010, but would that mean Suzuki takes a year off?

Helibars, MRA screen, Ohlins damper, reversed shift pattern, sorted suspension, braided lines, Michelin Pilot Power, all else stock 'coz it's fast enough!
