I really don't get it. An old has been (sure he was great at some point) jumps on a bike and does a few laps for the spectators. I really don't see what the big deal is.

I suppose it's for the people that are a little older that watched this guy in his prime.

Don't get me wrong i'm not knocking your thread. I just wonder how many people really care if the guy does a few laps or not.

I am the older guy that did see him race live at laguna seca(just once live). Just hearing and smelling that YZR rip it up one more time would be pretty cool.

I wouldn't question Katoom about why he not going In 2005 I believe by chance we ran into each other there and asked if he was a member of this Forum or he seen my shirt I forget been a long time but he's been there done that, seen this and that races/racers in the past..... just like many of us older riders.....oh the stories I could tell if I haven't already somewhere on this site.

Well when someone says he wishes he could be there and lives in California, just makes me wonder why the hell you don't have a ticket already. Must be nice to of done this and that, but dear god a GP going on in your neck of the woods and missing it? I would love to go to a GP someday, but i'm holding out for a spanish or Italian round.

Gonna have to time a trip to my mum and dads in the UK to co-inside with a GP round me thinks.

Well it's like when I grew up in LA and people from out of state always asked how Disney land was I wish I could go and would be there everyday if I lived in LA but for me it was nothing when you went many many times.......trust me it's not our fault we have so many things to do and see in California. .....for me I lost count how many GP races I have been to and AMA race events and feather in the cap is going to the Isle of Man when over seas.....seen GP races back overseas as welll when the Hall of Fame racers where still racing....seen the greats and current ones so yeah it's sweet to have MotoGp in our backyard but I don't go every year as well call it spoiled or whatever it just depends on the year and if it's a field I want to see.

Sadly, I am having some health issues. I have a season pass on motogp.com. I will be there from my armchair with a beer in my hand....
